Review - Annapurna, Mira Mesa, San Diego
Rating: 4.5 of 5
I will recommend trying food from Annapurna, Mira Mesa, San Diego any day of the year. Good food, good people, no complains. We eat at Annapurna, Mira Mesa, a number of times and love it always. Even though food is authentic, it’s not over-done.
It took us a few years to find a superb Indian Restaurant where food is as important as billing the guests. Its a small restaurant where food is authentic Indian and so very economical. Their, all-you-can-eat buffet has more than 40 Food Offerings. Food smells great and tastes delicious, served fresh always, hot just out of cooking vessels.
They always have at least four to five varieties of Indian Rice - plain, pilaf (Pulav), Biryani, Lamb Biryani, you name it. At least 8-9 curries are served every time. Plenty of options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians are not left behind either. If you are South Indian Food fan and not visited Annapurna yet, then you are missing something. I love their South Indian Chutney Variety and Sambhar is to die for. My husband is fan of their north Indian Curries and Lamb Biryani and Chicken Tikka.
This is one of such restaurant where we don't think twice to go - Very economical, good food and they take care of you very well even in buffet service.
Hot Indian Masala Tea is served free of charge in buffet. Tell me, who does that? I don't know a single buffet in town which offers any drink free in buffet! In-fact, if you pay 2 dollars extra, you can do a carry-out lunch from buffet too. Desserts are new Indian Dishes every time we visit. But, sometimes they repeat Indian Sweet Warm Custard with fruits and we both gallop at-least 2 small bowls of that :)
Being a food blogger, their new Indian Offerings always inspire me. I often take that inspiration home and make a version for my blog audience. Last year, I made Indian Mint Yogurt Dipping Sauce which is my all-time favorite whenever I visit Annapurna Restaurant.
Good job guys, Keep it up!!
