These Air Fried Taquitos recipe is perfect for a healthy and guilt free air-fried snack or breakfast. I filled taquitos with spicy chicken sausage and bean filling. You can use any kind of sausage you prefer. I highly recommend adding beans to the filling as beans hold the filling together. This way filling does not fall when taquitos cook in air fryer.

Taquitos means "Little Tacos" are small rolled tacos made with corn tortillas, which are filled and fried for crunch taco snack. Air frying taquitos makes cooking taquitos mess-free, oil-free and also healthier. I simply love the fact that I can serve taquitos from air fryer to breakfast table without dealing with splattering oil.
With this recipe, I'm also sharing a mouthwatering taco filling recipe. Really, the same filling will work as-is to fill in tacos for taco Tuesday. Or add to breakfast burritos.
For today's recipe, I served Taquitos with Chipotle Lime Cream and dust of Cotija Cheese.

What Do You Need to Make Taquitos?
Here is what you need to make Taquitos in Air Fryer:
- Sausage
- Beans
- Tortillas (corn)
- jalapeno
- Taco seasoning
- Onion
- Garlic
- Tomato Sauce
- Salt and Pepper
One recipe yields 10-12 rolled 6" Taquitos. Recipe doubles easily. Double the ingredients and cook in two batches to add more serving.

Cooking Taquitos in Air Fryer
If you like like Mexican flavors and fried food, this recipe will quickly become your favorite. Cooking taquitos in the Air Fryer takes total 13-15 minutes. 3 minutes of pre-heating, and 10-12 minutes to air fryer taquitos.

To make taquitos, I start by cooking the filling. This is the only part that needs time. Once filling is ready and cooled down. Simple, stuff tacos, roll and air fry. It is that simple and easy!
For Best Results:
- Preheat Air Fryer to ensures even cooking from the start.
- Don't use air fryer rack.
- Flip Taquitos half-way: Flip taquitos after first 5 minutes of cooking. This ensures even cooking and perfect browning as if fried in oil
Time for Cooking Taquitos in Air Fryer
I use Ninja Foodi Max XL Air Fryer. It takes 10-12 minutes at Air Fry setting, at 400 degrees Fahrenheit to make perfectly crispy Taquitos.
For best results, keep an eye in last 1-2 minutes. I have also learned with experience that cooking taquitos in batches will make crunchy taquitos vs cooking in bulk.
This delicious Taquitos recipe is perfect for a healthy snack or breakfast. I even don't mind these as dinner. Since I started cooking taquitos in Air Fryer, Taquitos has become regular in our menu. I hope you will enjoy these as much as we do. Happy Cooking!

- 1. Cook Sausage and Beans: Heat half of the oil in a sauté pan. Add onion and garlic with pinch of salt. Cook until onions are soft and light brown at edges. Don't let garlic burn. Add sausage (without casing) along with minced jalapeno, oregano, seasoning, and half of the remaining salt. cook stirring and breaking with wooden spoon until sausage brown at edges.
- 2. Simmer: Add tomato sauce and mashed beans. Cook stirring often on medium heat until all liquid evaporates and sausage is cooked through. Remove in a bowl and let cool completely.
- 3. Make Chipotle Lime Crema: If serving with Chipotle Lime Crema, mix all ingredients and half of salt for sauce in a small bowl. Whisk until sugar is dissolved. Add remaining salt to taste. Add 1-2 tbsp water if consistency is very thick. Mix well. Set aside or cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
- 4. Assemble Taquitos: Microwave tortillas for 15 seconds to make'em easy to work with. Cut 1 inch tortilla from the side. (Discard or reserve to make Tortilla Chips). Place each tortilla on a work board cut side facing towards you. Put 3-4 tbsp filling on one side. Brush beaten egg wash on round side facing away from you. Roll from cut side wrapping tightly around the filling. Repeat to roll all taquitos and place on a plate cut side down.
- 5. Preheat Air Fryer: Remove air fryer rack from the air fryer. Preheat air fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit at Air Fry setting for 3 minutes. Once preheated, open fryer. Place taquitos, seems side down, in the air fryer. Arrange in one or two layers. For small fryer, cook in two batches. Coat each layer with a brush of oil or oil spray.
- 6. Air Fry Taquitos: Set fryer to air fry for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. After 5 minutes, pause fryer and flip the taquitos and continue cooking for remaining time. Keep an eye in last 1-2 minutes. Cook until taquitos are brown and crispy at edges. Serve taquitos with side of sauce. Enjoy

- For best results, cook in single layer, in batches.
- To cook crispy taquitos don't use air fryer rack while cooking.
