Mock Duck as the name suggests is meatless vegetarian recipe but it is prepared and tastes like roasted duck cooked in butter tomato gravy.
Instead of duck, I have used Soy Protein available in most markets these days like Vons, Whole Foods, Farmers market to name a few.
However, if you have some rotisserie duck meat or chicken meat leftover from yesterday night dinner, go ahead and replace soy protein with meat.
PS: Butter Tomato Gravy is traditionally known as Tikka Masala Gravy. This is a cheat style quick Tikka Masala gravy and I'm sue you will love how easy it is to put together!

Savita's Notes:
Mock duck tastes best with steamed rice but you can also use flat bread or slightly toasted artisan bread with this tangy spicy vegetarian recipe.© Chef De Home. Post content including video and photos are copyright protected.

I had Mock Duck at an indian bistro in Culver city, it was so mouthwatering, I am gonna try it tonightSavita
@Sameer, you can pan sear tofu in little bit of oil or you can also try this sauce with some pan fried russet potatoes. I usually look for these Soy Protein Cutlets in Tofu Section or Isle Or International or Veggie products isle near the milk or fresh produce section in most of the markets.Sameer
I could not find Soy Protein Cutlets in market. Do you have any alternative suggestion? like can I use tofu instead?Ben
